02 3.8L Power Steering Pump
#2
It is not all that difficult to remove from the compartment, on my 99' 3.8 two bolts roughly 3-4" long hold it in place. Naturally, Remove the serpentine belt first. On the P/S pump pully you will notice there are a couple holes, you will have to use a socket with an extension on it, I apologize I cannot recall the exact sized socket required.
The two bolts holding it in place are at the 12 and 6 o'clock position. Note: You will be doing most of this work my touch and feel. Once you remove the two bolts the entire piece will essentially fall out of place. The hardest part of the whole affair is actually putting the P/S pump back. The is due to the fact that you are arm deep in your engine compartment with a socket through a hole in a pully trying to get a bolt to line up through a hole in the P/S/ pump with a mounting hole, none of which you can see. Hah.
Good luck sir, just don't get pissed off and you should be fine.
