Firstly, new to the forum. Ive found alot of useful info from this site so im hoping i can find answers for this. If there is another thread pertaining to this i apologize in advance.

I have a 01 SS, 175,XXX miles, engine running great. But has a startup issue. On a cold start, car cranks up great as any should and fires right up. Also starts right up immediately after turning off. Seems like once its warmed up though and been sitting for 40 mins-2hrs i go to start it up, it will start, the gauges will begin to set and then the car dies. I go to start it again, same thing. I eventually end up having to start it & immediately give it gas up to like 2k rpms for around 10 seconds, and when i let off it usually stays on, sometimes dies then too. I smell alot of fumes when this occurs, even when im not pressing on the gas.

Car does have slight oil leakage on the upper intake manifold as most 3.8s do but didnt think thatd be related to this issue, as its in startup only, car runs FINE otherwise

Bad fuel pump or fuel filter maybe? Was told it might be injectors but ive read that thats a rare issue to have. Ive put fuel injector cleaner in many times, didnt seem to help any. Any help would be appreciated! Thank you
