I looked it up, MIS is about an hour southeast from the pavilion! that would be one fun cruise! We can all decide what we want to do when we get to the meet, but if I have a couple people that want to go I'm in! And I heard for 20 bucks you can drive on the speedway too, ohh man!

 

I don't think you'll be able to go on the track that day......

Yes, this sounds like a good idea. However, where would we park when we got there? I'm pretty sure it's going to be busy (not nearly as much as Sunday, so maybe it's not that big of an issue). We can talk about it at the meet I guess. Like I said, it's basically kind of on the way home for me so I'd be up for it.

The Nationwide race is at 3:30pm that day, so no driving on the track for us.

 

I did MIS last year on the drive on the track you are limited to 70mph and have to stay behind two pace cars, are not allowed to pass other cars. They have acops on each turn ready to escort you off if you act up.

However I did 75 and passed every one I could except the pace cars

I will be at Bennet park but have a family thing to goto afterward so skipping MIS this year

 

I also will not be going to MIS this year. If we do a track day, I suggest we set up another meet at a place like US131 Motorsports Park or something.

 

There should be plenty of room for parking! The cup race on sunday is when the track parking is usually packed...

Also for the Nationwide race general admission is the call of the day for saturdays race and I believe is only $25.00 and you can sit where ever u like...to watch the race..

If I had some idea as to what time you will all be there....Id like to come meet everyone...

There is parking at the campgrounds Im at (off US 12 across from turn 2 on the south side of US 12) outside the track.....(GravesFarms) If someone wanted PM me or email me we could swap phone numbers so we can make it happen....

There will certainly be a lot to see and do...If you have never been to a nascar race,nationwide etc...

MIS is only about 45 minutes west off I 94 past Metro Airport. You can take US 12 exit (Ypsilanti) to get there too.. If your concerned about getting there and back...as far a directions...

My best guess is from lansing youll be comeing down I 69 to I 94 to US 12?

Even though theres no wifi there....I will have it (wifi) as well as my Laptop up and running...

 

I will be going to the pavillion in Lansing that day, but I won't be going to MIS because I don't want to have a 3 hour 15 minute drive back home from the meet. Lansing is already a 2+ hour drive for me. I typically don't make it to meets unless they are at drag strips, but due to what appears to be a large turnout this year, I really want to go.

The pavillion will still be a good meet and I can't wait to see everyone's Monte's there.

 

Ill bring some hot dogs n buns. Thinking of donuts too if I get there early in the AM

From MIS to shelby twp the drive will be a mere 1 hour and 45 mins tops.

You can take US 12 to I 94 E and exit 23 mile rd (Newbaltimore) exit. and take 23 mile straight to shelby!

Even though i live downriver..(Im a downriver transplant) Shelby is my old stomping grounds. (grew up there).

But the choice is yours...for sure.....Definately not a 3 hr drive home for you from MIS....

If I knew what part or mile road your near....I could easily hook you up with the best route home from MIS
