i remember the pics you posted, got me thinking i need to check it out someday, just never had a good enough excuse to drive up there. probibly only 5-10 minutes across the bridge for me too. usually i just stare up there when i'm sitting in wendy's up in matamoras.

 

The monument itself should be open, quite a hike up to the top

Like I said in nymcc forum I'll TRY and see if I can make it. I need to make sure money is good before I head on up. Any idea how much tolls will cost getting out of LI?

 

i dunno about LI itself but once you're in jersey (past patterson, lol) i can't think of any tolls to head that way

 

The only killer would be crossing the Hudson River, all depends on where you cross. Aside from a bridge/tunnel across the river I don't really know what tolls you might have out towards LI. But after the river you should be toll free.

 

So now that I have everything taken off I can't wait. I've been itching to drive and I'm going crazy!!!!!! This little trip should help my addiction XD
