How was Nostalgia Days?
Myself, Silver and his Dad all went. I was in the stock class and they went modified about a half block away.....they ran it from 25th street down to 30th . five freakin city blocks both sides of the street in the blazing sun..so much going on and didn't take but a couple photos. was dissapointed with the judging process,,,as you entered the event they gave you the bag of goodies, windshield sign and a ballot with a specific class (mine was hot / rat rods) they had the car owners have the final vote? what do I know about rat rods? how does black dog run the judging?
i was disappointing with the judging too. i wasn't expected to win a trophy but the way they have it setup was mess up. they put my father's car and this other guy beside us in the wrong class. they put my father's in the '80's modified class instead of '90 to present modified. this other guy with the fiero was all stock and they have him in the modified class and i'm sure there are others that was put in the wrong class too. black dog would of been better show to go. i have some pics i'll post up.
That's why I will never do another Nostalgia Days show. It's not organized and the judging is mess up. Black Dog shows are judged shows and go by the 100 point method. Well, at least I hope you guys had fun. That Glenview show Black Dog does on the same Sat is sooo much better. One of the few shows he does with classes (1st, 2nd, 3rd place awards + free food and a street fair to top it off!!!).
I'm checking out the BD site and schedual for future events. am willing to travel...know I will be going to Elgin in July with Silver and I know he wants to hit the black dog shows as well......what upsets me the most about Saturdays voting or judging(?) I was there simply for the fun of it and to give my panels exposer for future intrest but Ryan on the other hand and rightfully so was there to actually show and be judged regardless off weather he say so or not, there were alot of cars in the modified classes each broken into decades, he was up against many but a father and son set of Trans ams which looked pretty stock to me took first and second over Ryans Monte? If you even looked you would see he's lowered, brakes certanly are not stock, engines been beefed,,,mustang wheels so on and on. just erks me
