Default Withering a new clock, ??

Hello, I bought a new clock for my car, the clock has 3 wires for it, 1 positive for constant power, 1 ground wire and 1 power wire for the Light when the car is running.. The question I have it how (where) do I hook up the wires for the clock somthat it is lite up only when the car is running? I know where the red and black should go, but I need to "Tap" into a wire that is only live when the car is running for the clocks light. Any help would be GREAT as I am NOT. An electrical guy by FAR !...lol.. If anyone is near Milwaukee Wisconsin and knows how to do it, shoot me an pm... Thanks so much.. Michael...

Glancing at the interior/instrument lighting diagram in my Haynes maual it looks like you could tap the gray wire on the ashtray light. That way the clock would light up with the rest of your dash lights.
