Why wont my cd work

Default Why wont my cd work

i have a 04 monte carlo dale jr. And if i put a CD in it wont accept it i push it as far in as i can but it wont eat it for me. But, if i hit eject the eject works and spits it out How come it wont eat it for me and play its depressing because the radio sucks now a days. Please help thanks you

Are you sure there isn't cd stuck in it? My old vehicle had this happen. I pushed eject and nothing happened. I had to take it out and take it apart to get it out. I think the cd had something sticky on it so it stuck to the spindle.

I'd check if there is anything stuck in there too. My dads gmc envoy has had a CD stuck in the radio for over a year Hit eject and it just makes a clicking noise and then says "check cd"

does it show an error code on display.....my gran prix was doing that....just spit it back out and show error code.....replaced it with another one from another car and fortunately it wasn't security locked

The aftermarket JVC unit in my Grand Am had an issue like that. A piece that road a worm gear was worn. I was able to fix with a little epoxy glue. Not a simple fix (ripping the unit apart was quite the puzzle).
