It is not that light, that is just from the camera flash, it actually matches dead on! Took me 1hr 45 min to do from start to finish and 4 cut/blistered fingers but it was worth it! There is a seller on Ebay who had Wheelskins for $41 shipped and I got it in 2 days!(*ok, just added 2 pics with no flash above the pics with the flash, hopefully you will see it's truer color)

I find this a GREAT addition to any car.

Just be careful when you clean them. I use strictly a leather cleaner for mine, if you use anything too harsh the color will slightly come off. I learned the hard way when I wiped it down real quick and my rag turned a little red.

Also after using it for a while you will notice the color to start to turn black, I though the red was actually wearing away on mine, but nope it was just getting dirty. Cleaning it brought it back to a new look.

 

They suggest soap and water, no harsh cleaners or protectants that will harm or wear away the special finish on it. It is all in the instruction sheet. Also make sure there are no lotions, perfumes, colognes, etc. residue on your hands when you drive, that will damage it too.

 

Looks awesome! Matches the rest of the interior perfectly.

 

I agree, but what constitutes a harsh cleaner when it comes to soap? My dish detergent was too harsh it seems haha. That's why I specifically purchased a cleaner for leather. I didn't want my wheelskin to dry out and start to crack since it sits in the sun AND is made of real leather.

 

Looks great Lisa! As Chibi said, it makes for an AWESOME add to the car!

As for cleaning, I have had a wheelskin on the '94 Grand Am, my daily driver at the moment. I do notice it tends to "blacken" like Chibi said, it's just normal dirt from our hands (you don't see it on a black wheel).
I use the Armoral cleaning wipes to clean it and then the Armoral Leather Wipes. NEVER had a problem. I have NEVER seen the color come off, always looks great!

And Lisa, I COMPLETELY understand the time and pain in your hands from installing it. Takes a while along with attention to detail (threading the correct holes). Well worth it!!
