what size speakers and how many?
im going to upgrade my cars stereo soon since its stock and it doesnt even work, i had Alpine Type-S's in my bronco and they sound awesome, so if i can get those for the monte i will. what size are the speakers, and how many are there? i know there are 2 tiny circle speakers on top of the dash but is that it?
u should have either 2 6x9s or 2 4x8 or some other wierd size in the back lid behind the rear seats. you can always cut it to the 6x9 if its not right. plus the 2 in the dash are either thoes 4" square or the 2x6 or some other wierd size
ty, yours is a sick 4th gen as well. how about puttint 6 12s in the trunk like i got? hehe but yeah check b4 u cut into the door to make sure putting a speaker in wont mess with the window or the track!!
I would upgrade from the S's and go to the R's. I would also like you to consider other brands of subs, such as Fi, RE, and Digital Designs. There are also some nice subs from JBL (the GTi line). Most people havent heard about these because they arent readily available, but they are worth EVERY PENNY. They will handle much more power than the type S's, get louder, and the SQ subs will sound much better. Go with a sealed enclosure for SQ, and ported for SPL. I would recommend 2 10's or 12's, in a PROPERLY built box, made to the sub specs, or 1 15 in a properly built box. I myself run 2 10sof the JBL GTi subs, and love em. I have 1600 watts from the amp, so about 800 watts to each. The ohm load is 1.5 orslightly above that because ofimpedance rise.
ive always used memphis subs, i have a memphis 10" i plan to use, i dont want crazy bass, just enough. is mephis as good of a brand as everyone says it is? ive never had problems with them
6 12's must be crazy dude, must be loud as hell!

in the rear deck are 4x10
int eh front dash you have either the 3.5 or the 4.0"
Now if you can still find them they used to have a adaptor for the 4x10's that will allow you to mount a 6x9 in thier place and they will sit in there fine and only ads like less then 2" tot eh height of the speackers fromt he bottom.
I think the last set of them that i got was like 10.00 from Crutchfeilds.
Or ya messuer and cheat.
take a peice of MDF. and make your own. then they will mont to the deck and the speakers from the top or the bottom and you cna get them perfect this way with out having to cut the rear deck that never really fit the 6x9 to well anyway in those 4 " rear decks.
but i would defently say get some Subs for it they are a huge improvment in theses cars of any year.
