Default Trac off/ ABS lights wont turn off??

I have a 2001 Monte Carlo ss. A couple weeks ago my car would be fine until I would turn the steering wheel, then the Trac off & ABS lights came on. Now the lights stay on all the time right at startup?? Any help?

Most likely a bad ABS wheel speed sensor. Unfortunately, that sensor is an integral part of the wheel hub and can't be replaced separately. A good scan tool should be able to tell you which wheel it is.

Your welcome.

There are several threads posted on this site on how to replace a wheel hub.
Sometimes the sensor just needs to be cleaned, but if you have over 100.000 miles on your car you're probably due for new hubs. Usually the front ones go first.

Yeah it has over 100,000, my checkup time is due in a couple hundred miles, so I will be sure to get it checked out while it's in! Thanks!

Unfortunately for me, I had my sensors in the front left and right hubs go bad, and the wiring for the left side had been broke, allowing rust into the wire and travel up at least 2 feet (as much as I took out). Id check anything you can, and hope yours arent like mine
