Well, I finally got around to installing my 6x9's in my hoopty. I have the stock head unit, stock amp, just put in some Polk Audio EXII 3-way 6x9's. It made a noticeable difference, the bass is deeper, got some high end from the back now, not too shabby. I wish I could have done my front speakers too, I have a sweet set of Rainbow DreamLine 6.5" components that I've only gotten about 3 months of use out of in the 2.5 yrs I've owned them. Long story. I was under the impression the stock speakers are 5.25", found out today they're 6.5", so im good to go! I just need to pick up a hole saw and handle it. Needless to say, it'll be done tomorrow. I took pics as I did the install today so I could do a write up, anyone interested?

 

Cool, next you gotta get some bumping subs

 

I have some 12's in a ported box and an amp sitting here, I just haven't really felt the need to put em in cause the stock system hits pretty good.

 

It will be so much nicer with subs, im sorry I just love bass. What kind of subs and what kind of amp?

 

I know it, I just haven't really felt like messing with it, the stock system satisfied me for the most part. The subs are Obcon, as is the amp. They aren't top notch stuff, hell, I'd even go as far as to say they are entry level pieces, but they hit damn good. Shocked the hell out of me when I had em hooked up in my Taurus.
