Default sub installed

just installed my new JL audio 10w7 with 500/1 amp. i've got a 1farad capacitor but didin't have enough wiring to get that in tonight. its all hooked up to my kenwood excelon 789 headunit. the sound is hard and crisp but i need to get that capacitor in...because of the power, the headlights and interior lights dim everytime the sub hits. i'll have pictures up sometime soon.

Sounds like a pretty nice setup and I can't wait to see some pics.

What did it all end up costing you?? I really want to upgrade my factory job but have no idea which direction to go in.

Cool man, two of my friends rock 12 inch W7, one has a Blazer and the other a Jeep and damn do those things bump. JL Audio has some of the best bumping subs out there.

here is a quick picture i took of the system - still havn't gotten the cap hooked up, hopefully that will get done today. what do you think about throwing a blue neon in the trunk?...give it a little bit more of a showy look. let me know what you think about the install.

it wasn't cheap thats for sure, but you get what you pay for. the sub retails for $699 by itself plus an extra $200 for the box and 400-500 for the amp. however i found a dealer on canal street in nyc and got all three things (sub in the box with amp) for $900. then throw in an extra $100 or so for the supplies for the amp rack me and my friends built and the wiring kit. it was expensive but i plan on keeping it for a very long time and i am very happy with its performance.

I couldn't do it, I could not justify spending that amount of money on any setup. The setup I had in my Accord was a Rockford Fosgate HX2 12" sub in an Obcon box(got the sub w/box for $80) and a Lanzar OPTIdrive 500.2 amp for $125 off ebay. I guarantee you wouldn't be able to tell the difference by ear. But hey, when money isn't an issue, I guess I'd be going for JL stuff too!
