Can I disconnect the harnesses or do I have to leave them plugged up if I get a different amp ?

if u get a new amp and u want to disconnect ur stock amp then u have to either bypass the amp and then ur stock speakers have very little if any bass...or run your speaker wires from the stock am and run them to your new amp...how do u have your amp wired into your car stereo> do u have an aftermarkey hu or what?

Does anyone know how many watts the factory amplifier is. I have an 02 ss with the amp under the speaker tray. Just wondering if it puts out more power than an aftermarket head unit.
