Default SPEAKERS

I WANT TO UPGRADE THE SOUND SYSTEM, DON'T GET ME WRONG, IT SOUNDS PRETTY GOOD, BUT JUST WANT A LITTLE BETTER. SO I'M THINKING ABOUT GETTING ALPINE SPEAKERS FOR THE WHOLE CAR. I KNOW THE REAR DECK SPEAKERS ARE 6X9 BUT WHAT ARE THE FRONT DOOR SPEAKERS?

HEY..I have an '05 LTZ and i replaced just the speakers so far. Make sure you check the ohm rating on your factory speakers b4 you replace them. My factory speakers were all 2 ohm so I was limited in whati could use. I went with the Infinity Kappa's,692.7i (6x9) in the rear and the 60.7cs (6.5" seperates)components in the front. The sound difference was good, much cleaner sound. I am able to turn up the volume more with almost no distorsion...I still have the factory am/fm/cd.cass radio with the small amplifier in the trunk(inbetween the factort 6x9 speakers.)...If your going to have it done, just go to someone that you really trust in auto sound systems.

Hey....Any good car audio should be able to test what ohm rating your factory speakers are. You can do it yourself with a digital vtom meter(volt ohm meter)....Set the meter to read ohms on the lowest scale and put the test lesds to the possitive and negative terminals of the speakers. Then just read what the meter says....The factory stock speakers in my LT were 2.6 ohms

Hello Yes you can get an aftermarket amp butyou will need a special adaptor to go inbetween the factory head unit and the amp. The better way is to get an aftermarket head unit and an aftermarket amp. Try just upgrading the front and rear speakers for now, there was a BIG improvment in sound quality when i did just the speakers. To recap,I used Infinity Kappa 692.7i (6x9) and Infinity Kappa 60.7cs (6.5" components)
