Default Rear Speakers Not Working

I just purchased a 2006 Monte Carlo LT and noticed the rear speakers are not working. I didn't notice it during the test drive, turned on the radio, it worked so I shut it off to see if I could hear anything else.

I was wondering if this was a common problem with the MC, or if there is something I should check first.

I wonder if the fuse is blown for the amp? Any other ideas?

Thanks

i dont think its common. but my opinion i would first just check for wires to be pulled out or cut in the trunk.
silly question maybe... but did you check to make sure the fade is not set all the way to the front speakers?

I haven't really had a chance to look into the wiring, but hope that is the case. I hope the rear channels out of the head unit, and/or the amp isn't smoked.

It is not the fade, that is how I found out they weren't working. Faded all the way to the rear, turned up the volume, no sound.

Looked into it last night, both speakers were disconnected. Weird?

I didn't really mess with them, I think they sounded alright, so I don't know why you would have disconnected them in the first place.

They could have came disconnected by putting things in your trunk or from the previous owner I know that happen to mine when they were stock.

Previous owner may have ran a lineout converter off the rears and never hooked them back up after he or she took out their aftermarket system...
