Re-covered existing SPARCO seats
Hello hope everyone is well. Wanted to share pictures of the SPARCO seats I have had in the Monte, as I have had them refitted with new vinyl seat skins. The leather was over $1400 to use so I opted for the $750 textured vinyl that mimic's leather very well.
The original Red / Black SPARCO material was showing it's age with the sun fading and a couple mouse holes wearing into the fabric. I tossed and turned for a couple weeks trying to come up with a new cover style that would look nice with the Monte. I went through so many car magazines, internet sites with seat designs, was driving myself crazy as nothing really felt right. I ended up looking at the high end cars manufacturers such as Porsche, Mercedes, Ferrari etc. to see how they trimmed out their cars interiors. What I did notice was there was no use of bold exterior colors inside, it is as though the interior is it's own entity. So I chose not to re-use the Red as before, no stripes etc. What I found that caught my attention was the 2013 Chevrolet Corvette's seat design. They appear sporty and stylish, yet have an air of elegance to them. And with that I elected to use my original OEM interior colors and the Corvette seat pattern in as much as the upholstery shop was able to considering we were covering SPARCO racing seats.
We chose to have the new white Sparco logo stitched back in to it's original place, and then for the custom touch I had an extra 6th gen. Monte Carlo SS script emblem laying around and took into them for a pattern and had it custom embroidered onto the headrest area as you can see. It is stitched to the actual emblem size. The touch of red on the head rest is subtle enough yet provides a glimpse of the exterior on the inside. So what do you all think? A home run? Anyway take care thanks for looking........
