Default Question about the USA SPEC PA11-GM

I got this iPod interface for my b-day and I helped my finance install it today in my 05. I don't know if we cut the wrong wire going from the satellite receiver box, but when we followed the instructions to install it via the XM hookup the electronics went nuts. We put it back to factory and installed the interface to play with the CD changer. I don't like that way cause the name of the tracks don't display. Does anyone have any tips on what wire to cut from the receiver box?

I don't remember - I am finally taking it to a stereo install shop Saturday. It kinda functions hooked up to the CD changer. It's not playing all of my preset playlists though. That is why I want to take it to professionals so I can get it hooked up to the XM so I can see song titles.

yeah I did some research on it and the switches have to be in the right position, if you can can you have them take pictures? or atleast have them explain what was wrong and record the switch position just incase

I was not able to get the XM working with it but i did get it working good, would love to know the trick.

I used splicers, they made the install easy- on a 03 i connected to the orange for the constant 12v and the ground behind the radio and to the right, it goes right to the chassis

If you can, scrap the USA Spec and get the iPod interface from Perepheral Electronics. Works great, easy to install. I had a USA Spec CD changer and it was junk to put it nicely.

You're right I think I remember I Spec's has a spilter but I think I passed on it 'cause I had to patch into the facotry wiring, which I'm not about to attempt. House wiring, OK, car, no way. I couldn't get into Peripheral's website, hope that doesn't mean they're going out of bus. Either way, I guess it's up to what you want to do. I which I had found Peripheral's site before I bought mine at Best Buy 'cause I had to get the updated cable for the 4g nano.

Did you have a hard time getting yours to boot up for lack of better term? I think it took a day or two for mine to completely cycle through so all my functions worked on the headunit.

Nope i bought it, pulled dash, radio, and climate control.

the interface fits nicely above the climate control and taking it out game me alot more room. The interface has a constant and a ground, I just used spliters and spliced into the orange constant on the radio instead of running it to the fuse box and there is a ground right by there. only downer is the xm had to stay disconnected due to the stupid preview always playing and playing over the ipod. and my ipod was up-to-date on software

Well, the guy at the stereo install place told me to call tech support for US Spec. That was not the answer I was looking for. Like I said before, it works through the CD changer setting, but I would like to hook it up through the XM. I will never use my XM so I don't care if it is completely disabled because of the iPod.
