You pull the boot down (there's like a rubber band at the top holding it on so it can stetch), there's a small staple on the stock shifter. Use needle-nose pliers to remove that staple, and pull the **** straight up.

Grand Prixs had a different style shifter. But the '00+ Bonnies and the '99+ Grand Ams. On the Grand Ams, you need to watch, they have black leather and dark grey.

All the Pontiac shifters have grey buttons, but Chibi and a few others popped the buttons out and swapped them. I kept mine since it matched the pewter two-toning I was doing in my Monte.

Sorry thought I got mine from a Grand prix ., But it could have been a grand Am..LOL, I look at a lot of car's to see if some part will work on my car's.
I installed VW wiper motor & linkage on my 1940 chevy..
