We don't expect you to already know this stuff and be well versed in it, but I think it's reasonable for us to expect you to take in the info we're giving you since we are taking time out of our day to try and help you.

hey guys got the head unit today. i did learn about the rms and found a couple 170 rms speakers didnt get em yet is that good? my head unit puts out 70rms and is a pioneer with the ipod and all but i cant seem to find a harness that fits it? can anyone tell me where i can get harneses for specific units from?

I doubt your deck puts out that much power, post the model number so I can confirm. Once I confirm I'll let you know what rating your speakers should be.

nvm the label at the store wAS wrong they ****ed it up with pioneer speakers. it puts out 14 rms its some deu 330 or something like that

im just getting a place to do it for me anyway. buta i just started driving a bmw shud check tht out.

one stop installed it for 120 it looks great and took out the distortion of the amplifier they sounnd amazing

are they amped or not? what unit did you end up getting and what speakers?

i kept all the factory for now. they took off the distortion so the factory subs sound really good. i ended up getting a pioneer head unit. the speakers sound so much better. but i plan on keeping stock 6x9s cuz apperently theyre factory subs. but im going to buy 2 1000 watt pioneer subs and a pioneer amp later on. since the head unit has direct sub and speaker control.

soo...do you have to buy a new head unit to just replace the amp? i want a better amp so i can get better rear speakers. i don't want subs or anything. and i don't want to replace my factory radio.
