As far as that piece goes, i've got 2 suggestions for ya:

1) i'd simply find a place that does "wraps", or vinyl and try and match it up as close as possible to the stuff that's on your drivers side of the dash. I'd assume that since you're looking for brushed aluminum, you've got either an ls or lt since the ss' came with (fake) carbon fiber looking stuff on the dash.

2) >>IMO<< it's gonna be extremely difficult to use actual metal in that place because it isn't just a cover, i think it holds the "fins" of the vent that control where the air is directed to. If you just tried making a cover for the plastic and kept it there for the adjustable fins, you'd run into the problem of how to mount it. You could always try epoxy or 3m tape, but i'd almost guarantee that it won't look as nice as the drivers side.

--just my .02....it's your monte and nobody's gonna tell you what to do and not do, but that's how i would assume that the outcome would be. Good luck

I agree that the whole panel would be too much... But I think it just looks unfinished without it around the air vent

WELL...I knew you had a 7gen...and I have a 6gen SS. I was hoping my dash was the same...but no..that is a 7gen change I guess...or maybe its an LS deal on 6gen...but either way...I dont have the indent on my dash.

Option 1: make a thin cardboard template of what you want...and I will carve one out for you...private mess for addy

Option Deux: if you are an Autocad guy...email me an acad drawing and I will have it laser cut for you.

Option C: wait for me to find a MC with a dash like you.

Option Quatro: round trip fly me down to florida, buy me a seafood dinner and a manhattan...and I will make you a dozen of them :-)

I'd go with option 4.

at the risk of being off topic.... a manhattan is 3 oz Bourbon, 1.5 oz sweet vermouth...and a cherry. (i like just a spoonful of cherry juice as well) But to keep it on topic...I find that a manhattan after work...like I am having right now...takes the edge of me going into the garage and scrubbing wheel #2 of 4 with a scotchbrite.

I am prolly headed to the junkyard tomorrow, I need a new coolant overflow...I will look for a dash.
