I know a little bit about installing audio systems in cars, but what I am stunned on is installing the L.O.C. (line out converter) inside my monte. My setup is 2 12" Pioneer Subs with a Hyphonics Mono Amp and a Line Out Converter. I am trying to install this system on my factory headunit.
The first step I have FOLLOWED (as instructed) was too:

INSTALL THE AMP FIRST
1:Mounted the amp on the back of the seat (screwed down w/
provided screws)
**Underneath the carpet, I have the Power, Ground and Remote
wire hided neatly to the amp.**
a: Grounded the ground/power wire to the floor of the trunk on
bare metal (with 1 - 2 ft of length from the amp).
b: Connected the Power wire to the amp (which the wire is hooked
up directly too the "positive AUX post", NOT FROM THE
BATTERY). So, I do have power to the amp.
c: Connected the Remote wire to the amp (which the remote wire
is connected from the radio fuse too the amp). The amp lights
up with the indigo blue (w/ no protection light on).

INSTALLED THE SCOSCHE L.O.C. SECOND
2: Installed the loc to the rear speakers as instructed from
INSTRUCTIONS
**Used left over speaker wires to have at least 2ft length from
each 6x9 to reach LOC.**
a: Connected the 2 "left, positive & negative" speaker wires on the
left speaker and repeated the SAME step on the RIGHT speaker
wires as well.
Note: The L.O.C. instructed me to turn the dails all the way to the
right
b: Connected the RCA cables I had (previous use from old setup
from my last car) from the loc too the amp for converted sound.

SUBWOOFER INSTALLATION THIRD
3: I didn't exactly put the whole box inisde my trunk, what I did
was used one sub for testing instead of going through the time
and effort which more than likely will end at this result of now
(ASKING FOR HELP LOL).
a: I connected the sub (by itself) too the amp using a thick KICKER
(don't know the gauge wire) speaker wire too the amp.

TESTED THE SETUP FOURTH
4: NO SOUND
a: Made sure I had proper ground connected.
b: Made sure there was proper power connected.
c: Made sure the remote wire turned on the amp w/ NO protection
light on
d: Played a cd and STILL NO SOUND.
e: Adjusted the loc levels, NO SOUND.
f: Adjusted the amp levels, NO SOUND.

Note: Not even a hissing sound from the speakers. I was wondering If I need to buy a new pair of RCA cables for reassurance. Maybe I need to buy another LOC for reassurance. I am at lost for trying. Please, can someone help me with this problem. I will gladly appreciate it.

Sounds to me like you have all the basses covered. Try the new RCA wires. If that fails, the it could just be the LOC. I have seen them defective from manufacturer.

Post what you find out.

 

At least, I DID SOMETHING RIGHT. LOL! I just bought that LOC from a well known website. I think it could be the RCA's because the last time I used those was when I had my old car and it was TOTALLED in an accident. So I took out my audio system (so no one will steal it). I think that it could be damaged or so but looks like it works.

 

When you ran your power cable and remote cable did you put one on each side of the car? I'm not saying this is the problem, but it can cause interference.

I am unfamiliar with AUX post, but I found it quite easy to run it directly off the battery with an inline fuse. That way your sure to get the power you need. Don't forget a grommet in your firewall too.

 

I do have them both running on the passenger side of the car. I thought (which I was told) that the rca cables do not run on the same side as the power and remote wire. Well, I will put the remote wire on the driver side too see if that is the problem. The reason why I do not have the power wire hooked up to the battery is because I have a side post battery and it is frustrating just to try to hook it up too the battery. The battery has a weak positive post too where if I add the power wire too it, it won't barely screw onto the post so the car can even have proper power. I was watchin a friend of mines hookin his sounds up and he connected the power wire to his AUX post underneath his 95 monte carlo and the sound worked perfectly. I do also have a inline fuse to run underneath the hood but the reason why I didn't is because I wanted to make sure I have the sound first and once everything is adjusted and put where it needed to be, then I will add the inline fuse for that power protection.

 

It really wouldnt surprise me if it is the LOC they have a tendency to be DOA. Screw the LOC and go with the JL clean sweep you wont be disappointed I promise lol

 

Man Red, I iwsh I could jump to another product to assist me with the installation. Lack of funds right now. Which that loc was purchased off the internet, so I wouldn't doubt it being the loc that is not work. Also, I have a lot of rca cords inside my home that can (and from what I have seen is always used for home equipment usage) be used inside the vehicle. So, instead of buying another cord, I can use the rca cables from the house and use it in my trunk. Or would it work?

The Factory amp is hooked up as well!

 

I think thats where your problem is! Try to hook up the LOC directly behind the radio. Speaker wires for the rear should be yellow&brown (Left rear) and Blue/Light Blue (right rear) . The reason is that the LOC is currently getting a signal from the amp directly and that signal is not supported by the LOC.
