ok now i have istalled my aftermarket hu in my monte a ravdvd1 now i was driving around town with nothing but bass cuz i forgot this unit only has rca outputs for all speakers???!!!! But today i went and bought a 4 channel amp now it sounds very nice but my question is what is up with my driver side speaker it has now sound coming out of it except the chimes when i open tha door i know for a fact it works fine have any of you had this problem is this a factory issue with the aftermarket unit?????

 

so all of you here have all speakers in car running of an amp and working fine huh???

 

it's not the speakers, it's the headunit. if you want to keep your chimes you've got to buy a special adapter. and if you've got Onstar you've got to buy an even more expensive adapter.

 

Yup...anytime you change the factory head unit, you will lose the factory chimes. Did you install the HU yourself or have it professionally installed? A pro shop should have advised you of that.

 

i have not lost the chimes i have the special harness for the car but no sound coming out of driver side door speaker EXCEPT the chimes
