New System
Alright.. Finally Got the Head Unit in..

The thing in the corner of the pic on the dash is the GPS Mount.. That is where its going to go. I dont like the big magnet thing there that attaches to the dash. So I will trim it down to the size of the GPS thing when I permanently mount it. So its thats not finished yet but that is where it will go...Thanks to Blazed SS for the location and it gets full signal there.

I pulled up the wire to show where it was ran.

And all hidden.

The Head Unit was an extreme tight fit plus with all the wires. The unit goes all the way and touches the back of the dash. So the unit sticks out about .5" past mounting flush like it should. But it was still so minimal that the dash still went back together 99% perfect like it should and you wouldn't notice that it wasn't perfect unless it was pointed out, heck im sure ill will end up forgetting about that by the end of next week haha.
I was able to save the main wires for the Head Unit from my last unit so it was just plug n play for that at least. After installing the new wires, running a 1 new pair of RCA wires to the trunk, and some minor tuning and set up to the new unit.. TOTAL time net was about 1.5 hrs or so in the cold lol

Still need to install the Bass processor thing to control the gain to the sub remotely. I have to install remote power and ground to it. (small gauge wire is fine). I just wasn't up to it today, Defiantly by the end of the weekend
Once I master most of the controls of the unit, a new video will be up, probably next week. Sound quality defiantly improved beings that the unit runs on 5V outputs instead of 2V on my last one.

man that gets me excited about when i get a full fetured deck in my monte!
i have been looking at a pioneer avic x920, or even the next model up. there both awseome decks.
you should really get that antena outside your car for better reception, take it down your center console and out to your trunk. it'll make the GPS faster. :P in theory.
I'd really like to hear what you think of this deck, from my research on high end decks, im stariting to find out this is the cats meow of decks right now. from what i understand it even has T\A which is key to what im looking for, i was looking for osmehting with T\A, GPS, bluetooth all that fun stuff and a decent EQ with decent pre outs.
oh you shoudl throw in a back up cam, there so cheap nowa days. just requires a relay, and some rca routing.

Hopeing to get a vid of the new HU in a day or too.
Overall the unit is nice. It has some bugs and some things that I dont really like.. the most being that at times it runs slow i.e. slow response time to actions such as skipping to the next track. My old DDX 514 was immediate and the response time was almost nil. Other than that I do like it, it does have a few to many settings that can make it a bit confusing at times.
Im still planning the amp rack area. It needs some modifications... will probably extend it wider to the whole with of trunk. I will probably end up making the amps on top of each other at different angle so you see both...in the middle section of the amp rack. Then on one of the sides I will put that bass controller and on the other side put the RF 3sixty.2. And I am still planning on putting the battery in the trunk at the same place that Ive been wanting to. Still need to make the sides (on the sub side) to finnish out that part.
Not much is going to happen on the system till march probably when it gets warmer. about the only thing going to happen is all the new stuff needed is going to be bought.
Still debating on just lowering the front of the car. Or put a 235 40 18 tire in the front to make it look lower in the front... Or even do both.
Also still need to go get quote to install the pace car spoiler I purchased. Will probably have my front bumper and hood repainted at the same time too. As their is alot of paint chips that are beyond repair. Most were their from the previous owner who put tons of highway miles. My plan are to also black out the teeth on the front bumper as well. And tint the front windows to 20% instead of 35% so it matches my back ones of 20%
All in all. All this stuff needs to be done by may juneish at car show season.

Are there updates for the new headunit? if you havent done so i would look into that, might fix some of the bugs.
Did you get my message back on youtube about the teeth on the front bumper painted black?
If your repainting, i would just have the whole thing done so its smooth, because if you go back and spray paint it later it will look weird. i would just have your painter paint that part black then clear the whole bumper, will look alot better than even the cover, the cover doesnt look the best up close, which is what i have.
interested to see this video, also interested to see how your amp rack finishes, i have a design for mine but its gonna be a ton of work and money. but hopefully ill like it, cuz i guess thats all that matters ha.

Ya. I did update the unit. But it still runs sluggish at times.
Must of missed the comment on youtube lol.
Yes I was going to have him paint it matching silver obviously and paint the teeth black.. then clear it. My hood also appears duller than the other parts, im a detailer and ive polished it well but it just seems dull and not as glossy. Which I was hoping that is corrected in repaint as well. Just wondering if anyone else noticed this.. at least with silver.
I know the paint is not to be in this thread section but this is kind of "my thread" so to speak so I just tangented off lol.
And another winter project for me is that my rims.. now have stocks back on for winter. but my chrome 18s need some work. Need deep polishing etc.. might post up a how too maby even with videos idk yet.

here is what i posted on youtube, if your looking to not paint the lower teeth and looking for something removable i got mine here:

but again it would be better to just paint it on.
