Default Need Help Running Wire - 1998 Monte Carlo

Hello all. I am having trouble figuring out where the easiest place is to run power wire from the engine bay to the interior for a few electronics. Any suggestions?

There is a factory grommet on the drivers side firewall below the brake fluid reservoir. I would run a power wire through there. It will come in under the dash above the brake pedal.

Definitely don't drill a hole. If you're by the alternator, you're on the passenger side.

Go over to the drivers side and lay on the floor of the front seat with a light. Youll see a healthy sized grommet up there.

I've got a 2/0 wire through mine, you can't miss it.

Thanks a ton for your comment and help! I was hoping I’d grab your attention as your video is the best I’ve found. I’m a full blown noob/novice with diy auto repair and mod yet long time enthusiast for the Monte so I’m excited on many levels.

Any tips for which area or method of entry is best with the drivers side grommet?

Pics to come!

Its been a long time since I did it so I don't have many exact details. I ran 8 gauge through in 2000 replaced by 4 gauge probably in 2001 replaced by 2/0 in around 2004. I suddenly got out of car audio completely around 2008 so I never had to mess with it again. Only thing the wire is doing now is acting as a battery relocation kit as ive got an air intake where the battery used to be and my only battery is now in my spare tire well.

If I had to do one today I'd run it from inside the car into the engine bay. Theres just no good way to get your hands in there on the engine bay side as youve got the booster and all the other junk in the way. Laying on the floor of the cabin looking up is uncomfortable, but at least you've got direct access with you arm. Once you've fed through enough to reach your fuse holder, you can then run the rest of the wire back to the trunk.

I'd use one of those ultra sharp mechanics pick tools to poke the initial hole, then open it up with one of those small snap off knives. Just cut an X in it and push your wire through.
