Battery
Not a wise choice I did to be honest. Basicly connect the pos to pos and neg to neg. But in doing so the factory alt is charging both batteries. Next in the line of upgrades is a DC Power Alt. I have a circut breaker so when I go to shows I can play music and not kill the battery under the hood.
For car shows I use the "battery tender" that attaches to the batt under the hood and keeps it at full charge all the time. I have it hooked up with ring terminals that has a plug on the other end. So when I want to use the "battery tender" I just plug it in to the wire and dont even have to touch the battery and then I dont have those ugly looking alligator clips either

good choice on alts though, i picked up DC"s 220 amp alt, works great.
So the isolator is only necessary if you play the system with the car off?
no, it always should be their, because when one battery is half full, it'll start to pull from the other to charge its self, and the other will tug back to charge its self back up. sort of a tug of war. both batterys are always connected when the stereo is on, because the isolator turns on witht he amps, because its on the remote wire.
