When I do my 45's i'm just gonna use resin and they aren't gonna be huge, I'd be surprised if they took up 1/2" each.

I'm curious too as to how this box will sound compared to my prefab, I can't wait to hear it!

 

Got a little bit more done on the box, I predrilled all the holes and countersunk all of the one's on the exterior. As sexy as the woodgrain is on birch, instead of staining it i'm going to paint it, the whole box will be black except for the inside of the port and the ring around the subs on the baffle, both will have resin applied to them so they will be shiny and the woodgrain will be on display! There's nothing woodgrain in/on my car so having a whole box that's stained and sealed would just seem out of place to me.

No pics at the moment but I'll put them up when I get home. Next step is to start gluing and screwing, then once it's all put together minus the baffle it's time to bust out the resin. I'm gonna coat the whole inside of the box with it and then gonna pour some in the back corners of the box for my 45's. Hopefully I can get it done by Sunday when the rest of my audio competition team comes over to my house for our end of the year Team BBQ.
