Default mrl390's Sound System PICS

OK so I thought I would start a new thread about my sound system plans and progress.
Plans:
JVC KD-S100 headunit
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-baYrQjZ...ures_and_specs
Hifonics Zeus ZXI52CX 5 1/4s
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...+ZXi+52CX.html
Kicker DS6930 6x9s
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...er+DS6930.html

I bought the headunit and speakers already.
The amp I wanted was discontinued so Im still looking into that.

Onto the fun part:
I got these today

Some reading material so I dont screw anything up:

My headunit and rear speakers should be here on monday. Ill post more pics when I get them. Hopefully I can get the front speakers in this weekend. Im going to install the headunit and speakers using the stock wiring harness until I get my amp and then the RCAs and speaker wires when I install the amp.

"power from the gods" huh? Sounds pretty intense, they look like they could do some damage. Pretty hefty 5 1/4's if you ask me

Thats what I was hoping for. My stock door speakers are already pretty decent two ways so I was only going to change them for a much better set of speakers. I think these will do the trick.

Well I got my door speakers in. Here are videos of the stock vs new speakers. You can hear the difference in the video. The stock ones sound like someone is singing through a cardboard tube and the new ones sound like they are singing right next to you. The bass is also a little better as well. The old speaker cones moved alot but really didnt create much bass. The new ones dont move as much but hit a little harder. I cant wait to install the new headunit and amp them up. Here are the videos:

NEW

Installation is pretty straight foreward. Remove the door panel, unplug the speaker and remove it from the bezel. Remove speaker bezel. You will need to splice the wires that come with the new speakers onto the old speaker wires. You will also need to cut the moisture barrier on the door to allow the deeper speakers to fit in. Install the new speakers into the bezels, plug them in and reinstall the bezels. Put the door panel back on and you are done.
