I just looked at this thread again...do you need wiring to set up for both of your amps because i see you have one for your speakers already so i assume you need to do a multi amp setup...

 

Only one I believe, the amp for the speakers is set up.

 

$85 is a lot for a wiring kit. This one is just as good and less than half the price.

What amp do you have for your speakers already? Just the factory amp?

 

I'd suggest checking all the components at Crutchfield and then, once you decide on what you want, google them and buy it from whoever gives you the best price. Also, Crutchfield will let you know if the head unit will fit your car.

 

ok ok ok step 1 what sub do you currently have? what size? what box? ported or sealed? is your current sub a 4ohm dvc? 2ohm dvc? or 2 or 4svc? and whats your budget for everything? allso you were talking about your h/u pioneer is releasing a new line of double din h/u this march and they are pretty good and affordable. AVH-P3200BT is the one im waiting for. they say its going to retail at 500 which means theyl be avaliable for 275 new.

He was also looking a an $88 headunit, so I doubt he'll want a $275 double din.

 

I got my back speakers, I need a head unit and an amp+cables now.

 

this is the reply to the guy who said that 85 was too much for a wiring kit. personally only get one that is eqaul to how many watts your running.
8-200 to 400w
4-400 to 1000w
0-1000 to 3000w

im not trying to pursuade you, but when you skimp on the details it DOES affect the vocal clarity and pick up of unecessary engine whine.

also be aware that you will need 1 more pair of rca's which im pretty sure goes with any brand you get.

 

I'm not saying those are bad kits, but there's no sense in paying that much when you can get the exact same equipment for less than half the price. I've personally used 4 of the kits I linked to and never once had a problem, and I also run my entire sytem with Sound Quest wiring with plenty clear vocals and no engine whine. Engine whine is a result of installation error of some kind. Not to mention, if you're worried about the Sound Quest brand, it is simply rebranded Stinger wire, and Stinger is often regarded as one of the best in the car audio industry.

Wire is wire, it doesn't matter what band name is on the insulation.

 

thats hardly true...lots of brands of power wire only have enough copper, gold ect... inside the insulation to make only the size of an 8 gauge wire with insulation...i know the rockford fosgate wire of 4 gauge wire is almost double the size of a 8 gauge...so other brands your missing out on alot wire on the inside......makeing more resistance and a higher chance of it to melt ect...

RCA are even more important. Cheaper RCA brand are worthless...quite frankly Id only buy JL Audio blue series or Rockford Fosgate High Quality Wire(not sure what its called)...but they have a double tightly weaved wire to eliminate intro of noise

Wire is one of the most important things in any stereo installation! without the proper wire the best quality products will sound awful...like the saying goes it can only be as good as your weakest point!!!!
