Installing a new CD Player

Installing a new CD Player
So I just got my Monte yesterday, it's a '99 LS. It came with a complete audio setup in it, but truth be told someone had stolen the face plate to the CD player, so it's kind of useless. I'm generally good with these things, but I couldn't even see where to begin to get the old CD deck out so I could either get a new one or find out what kind is in there, and order a new faceplate. So basically what I'm looking for is a guide on how to remove the CD player from the dash. Thanks
PS: I tried searching before I asked and didn't find anything

Welcome to the board Jon and congrats on the Monte. Have you already tried taking the dash apart? If not, I'd say start there. Try to get where you can see the under-side of the radio, then look for the main hold screws and the wiring harness.

you need ot pull the dash apart to get at it. there are like 3-5 screws that hold those dashes in. it has been awhile since i did those dashes I have the 6th gen .
but i want to say they had one in the glove compartment.
one in the vent and one ont he other side.
If you dont see any try GENTLY pulling ont eh front face of the dash and see if it will pop off for ya.
when some folks put stereos in the cars they tend to forget the screws to LOL
