Default Installing amp (high level input)

I am installing a 1000 watt amplifier in my 2001 monte carlo. There are five wires that connect to the front of the amp labeled "High Level Input". The amp instruction manuel tells me to connect them to the headunit (I am using the stock headunit). Which wires do I attach the amp wires to? (R+, R-, ground, L+, L-)

1000 watts, so your talking about a sub right?

first thing you need to understand is you'll need line convers (since it's a sub amp and not and amp for your speakers, otherwise it would be no problem just using high level inputs) and a bass processor (ideally)
here a unit like this might prove usefull

thats a all in one unit, or you could get line converts, and a bass processor.
such as a unit like this

doesn't have to be fancy or expensive, as it's just changing the voltage a little and giving you the rca jacks. stingers not bad.

for a bass prcessor you could just use

but essentially you can use either front or rear speakers, i woudlnt use left side of right side though, i'd recommend the rear speakers. i forget the color code for the rear speakers, easily google'able. or you could just figuire it out with a DMM. anyhoo, that's the best course of action.

with out the bass processing, even with the cross overs in your amp you're sitll gonna have allot more noise, and with out the processor boosting the signal the input voltages will be to weak. because of that the fact that the speakers will still be drawing power for them selves, the power out will be cut.

personally given the choice, i'd go with the MTX unit, since it's all in one and is cheaper, and requires less splicing and wires to be ran. you dont even need to mount it up in the dash, just tap into the wires in the trunk below the rear deck there should be a stock amp (assuming your car has one)

Thank you very much. One last question though. I do not know where to hook the remote turn on wire to. Any suggestions?

I wired it to a white wire in the trunk... the amp turns off when the delay lights go off. You think that will be alright?
