Default Illumination bulbs

What's up guys!? Anybody dabble with the illuminating bulbs in the heat/AC control deck? Not sure if they are the same as cluster bulbs where you have to solder them or if they are just your typical plug and play ones.

The light for my temp left slider recently failed. GM does not sell a replacement part for this, you have to buy the whole temperature control assembly to fix this. My mechanic said putting a new bulb in it can be done, but like Dub says, "it's a PIA. But were going to do it anyway.

There is a person here that used just an led strip to put across it that looked pretty decent. Not sure what the post was called though and would be easier than trying to put in new ones.

Try tapping on the front of the temp control and see if the light comes back on. You may just have a cold solder joint that needs to be touched up. A lot easier to fix versus the bulb R&R. I've resolved this complaint a few times that way.

meaning he put it across the outside? wonder if you could illuminate it from the inside out by putting a strip where the bulb goes..but i guess if your gonna go that far might as well just re-do the burnt bulb anyway lol ill shut up meow
