Illuminated door sills

Has anyone tried to make illuminated door sills for there mc? If so how did they turn out?

I haven't seen them done before, I can't imaging them being too difficult to do if you find some thicker aluminum sills and put some LED strips under them.

I've been looking in to doing this as well. I know a guy who works in a shop with a CNC, and I've got some spare LEDs. Might give this a try.

One idea i had was to use some some clear plexiglass and use some of that EL Tape then cover the plexi with some type of chrome wrap maybe brushed steel wrap. Then some how cut out the lettering.
