Yeah, it adds up, but you do realize you paid over msrp for the amp and subs, right? I mean, if you're happy with your deal then that's all that matters but IMO I feel like you got taken advantage of. Do you even know the volume and tuning frequency of your box? Do you know what size box and tuning frequency the manufacturer suggests for your subs? I'm not trying to rip you, just trying to open your eyes and let you know that there is much better product to be had for the money you paid. But at the end of the day all that matters is what you think about what you got and what you paid for it.

One thing I don't understand though is why you had to buy any wires...didn't you already have an amp and subs hooked up in your car? If so, you shouldn't need anything but speaker wire to connect the subs inside the box, if they aren't already wired up.

this, also you didnt answer the question about the wire size, you will fry the wire if you stepped up wattage quite a bit...

how many watts on the amp?

are you amping the speakers? if not, don't put them in with just a headunit, if they're good speakers at least...

what's the wattage on the speakers?

What do u mean "they used"? I thought you bought the stuff and havent installed it yet? Do you mean that size wire was used for the installation of the amp you already have installed? If so, you didnt need any bigger wire than that for your power and ground. And im 99% positive its 4ga as Ive never heard of or seen 6ga in car audio.....as for the speakers, never dealt with that brand so i cant call it. But since ur stock speakers are probably 2 ohms it would be wise to swap them out anyway.

Not sure if you have already purchased everything, but I would check out your local craigslist for better subs. A lot of the systems I have gotten were through craigslist and if you know what they are supposed to sound like and look like your all set. I have alpine type x's now, but I typically stick with rockford fosgate stuff. IMO those are two of the best "non-hardcore competition" subs and amps, etc. JL is also very, very good.

Good luck with your set up, most everything is pretty simple. If you have any questions feel free to ask, a lot of people on here are quick to respond!
A girl that knows good audio... where did you come from? :O

But I would listen to her input, Rockford Fosgate is a top pick from me.

It's always nice to see a lady into car audio as much as us...she's still got some things to learn, like wiring a sub out of phase isn't going to damage it and a sub isn't make to have power going only one way, but she knows more than most girls

Just for clarification...the only way you're going to damage a sub by wiring it out of phase is if said sub has dual voice coils and one coil is wired in phase and the other out of phase. But if your sub is SVC, there is no damage to be done and electricity can flow just the same when the polarity is reversed.
