nice write up. ive never seen that color trim b4. also looks like one of your screws grabbed the surround.

anyways idk if yours is the same as mine, but b4 reinstalling my window swiches i have to smack um with a screwdiver of something to pop back into place. and dont lose the rubber piece that goes under the mirror d-pad.

 

The OP hasn't been active here in almost a year, but it's really not a hard job. Pulling door panels isn't anything scary, just take all the screws out and start poping the clips loose one by one. Other than unclipping the wire harnesses for the window/lock switches, that's it.

 

That was an EXCELLENT write on DIY. I had install some audiobahn's on my front doors with dynomat. Now, the problem that I had and still not knowing is the CORRECT woofer side to install in the baffle. I understand you cutt the tweeter size for the aftermarket to fit correctly. What I have in my car is component speakers (just without the crossover). I didn't know where to put the crossover and from the directions on the manual, I have to have a amp wired too the crossover for the speaker to work correctly. I got them to work but I did want the full affect from the speakers.

 

You don't have to have an amp to use the crossover. The input is just labled "amp" sometimes instead of "input", but technically your headunit uses an amp to power the speakers anyway. An amp is recomended though, it'll sound a lot better. Just mount the crossover to the door skin somehow, that's how most people do it. I used velcro lol.

But your first question, what the correct woofer side to install in the baffel is, I'm not sure what you mean. Do you mean the correct SIZE? If so, it's 6.5".
