My factory amp in my 2000 SS is right under the rear package tray, in between the 2 6x9's in the trunk. Its silver and you can't miss it.

Unless your h/u has an amp that can be turned on/off, your speakers are running off the head unit. My deck, Pioneer DEH-P880PRS, has the ability for the amp to be turned off and on.

Sorry to hijack this thread or anything, but does that stock amp power both the front 5.25", and the rear 6x9's?
I have a pioneer amp laying around, and I'm going to buy a set ofPolk 5.25 components, and I am wondering if I can unhook the factory amp from the door speakers and still have it power the rear 6x9's...
