Default Double Din Head Unit

I have an 04 SS with a bose system amplified and non onstar.I want to buy a double din touch screen for my car but I don't know the right wiring harness to buy.I want to be able to keep my functions from my factory radio and I was told I would have to mount my factory radio in the trunk somewhere which is fine with me.But all the wiring harness i've looked at look like regular harness and not long enough to run from the trunk to the front of the car.Any suggestions would help.

Hi,

Nice choice going for a Double Din. I found this, so you do not have to keep the radio in the trunk:

http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Produ...01&tp=3486

Pretty straight forward. You might have to tap the wiper fuse to get ACC but other then that simple install. Just so you know you will have have to use the following dash kit and adapters.

Dash:
http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Produ...22&tp=3121

Attena Adapter:
http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Produ...10&tp=2569

Your front speakers are 6.5's
The rear speakers are 6x9's

If you want or even if you have the wheel controlls you will have to use this adapter:
http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Produ...IX&tp=3405

The great thing about crutchfield is that with every thing you by you get what you need to install it including wiring instructions for you car and toll free tech support if you have issues.

Another quick question how do you take the dash apart I was at the junk yard yesterday getting parts for my sisters 98 grand prix and a couple that i looked in that had the dash panel already out from the looks of it there seems to be body clips holding it on.And if that's the same for us how do you remove the panel without damaging it or ripping it out it looks like it comes out easy.

And with this wiring harness I will be able to keep my chimes and warning signs but how will i be able to rest them without the factory radio cause I don't have factory wheels on my car .

Yeah with harness you get the chimes hense the little speaker there. That is what gives you the annoyig chime. This includes all the warnings chimes too.

The dash I am not sure casue I never looked at a 04 before. But if you get that dash kit you will be giving instructions on how to remove the dash and panels.

If it was like my 07 there was a trim ring that goes around teh stock stereo and it pulls straight out.
