Default cd player issue

hey all, in the process of finding what does and doesn't work on my car i noticed the cd player is not working. I got a cleaning cd and after much banging on the dash and radio itself it finaly started playing and cds have worked ever since. Now today it'll take a cd, play a few tracks, get stuck on one, say "ERR" and spit it back out, put it in again and its just a repeat. Anyone think there is a fix or is it just shot?

I know someone that happened to as well, he had to replace the deck. It was under warranty at the time though. Otherwise you're better off going aftermarket.

roger, i'll just keep pounding on the dash in the mean time, buying and geting this car on the road has left me a little short on cash, so radio fixes will have to wait lol
