Cassette to Cd player, HELP!

Im about to pull the trigger on a 2003 jeff gordon edition monte, but the only problem is it only has a cassette player

Since the car has a really good audio system stock, i want to get as much out of it as possible, however, i know absolutely nothing about wiring/installation/etc

How much will it cost to upgrade from cassette to a new deck (im looking at an alpine with ipod/satellite/etc)?

switching to an after market radio will cause you to lose your onstar and the options for your car that are done thru the radio. ive seen a cd/cassette on ebay for 50bucks for monte carlos. but you may run into a prob with that couse of the theft codes in the radios. a gm dealer should be able to take care of that. i recomend staying with a factory radio and just buying a sound system via wireharness.
