What is distortion?


Amplitude distortion occurs in an electronic signal when the power of the amplifier is not great enough to carry the sine wave to its intended peak amplification. If you look at the wave form of a amplitude distorted output signal, it would look like someone had neatly sliced off the top of a hill.Though amplitude distortion is usually an undesired result, the effect is sometimes used intentionally for audio applications, such as a distorted rock guitar which gives that crunchy rock sound.

What does SMD stand for?

 

steve meade designs. steve meade does a lot of car audio stuff on youtube. and has a very nice Tahoe with a 30k watt system in it. very clean. you can check his stuff out.

 

The DD-1 is a very nice tool to have, makes setting gains a breeze....and will let you know when you deck signal distorts too so you know how loud you can turn up your system. I can't wait for the CC-1 to come out, should be another couple weeks now.

 

i cant wait for the CC-1 either! its gonna be a nice tool to add to my collection!

 

yup I keep checking all the time for the CC-1 haha, its funny hooking this stuff up to your friends rides and letting them know how bad of a job they did tuning :P
