Burning Smell
Hey guys, I noticed a strange burning smell whenever I turned on the rear defroster.
This is how it started

This is how it ended

neither of those fuses is rear defroster but that relay is the rear defroster. The Radio had already lost supply voltage (I assume beacuse of the Rear defroster)
It was only happening when I turned on the rear defroster. Which I assume now was related to the radio problems it had (which is why the red jumper wire was in I assume) It wasnt me who did it BTW. But i couldnt tell what was shorting till this happened. So now I REALLY need to know, what cars have one of these that is compatible? The whole piece. ill pretty much just cut the harness out of the donor car and swap out the whole thing with as little wire splicing as I can get away with.

WOW, that was a bad idea for a fix.
I don't know all the cars that have the same fuse block, but I know that exact block in all '00-'05 Impala's and Montes (and I'm 99% certain engine size does not matter). You shouldn't need to splice anything (pending the main wiring harness is not damaged). If you read the instructions I have on changing a circuit breaker on that fuse block, the process for removing it is the same, regardless of Impala or Monte.
