Default amp bypass

is there a way I can not use the factory amp, but keep all the wire running to and from it? I have an after market headunit and I want to just power the speakers off of it.

What kind of head unit are you going to be running? Most of the time the factory amp is more powerful then what head units put out.

If I'm thinking correctly what you would have to do is find the wires before the factory amp and connect them to the corresponding wires after the amp. You would have to leave the wiring harness's from the amp unplugged then hide the wire back there somewhere.

Personally i would just change out the head unit and leave everything else alone.

I got an alpine put in my car and now the music is half as loud as before at max volume.
