alternator humming

Default alternator humming

My alternator is humming when car is off.I did lim/uim gasket change car runs fine , went over all connections 10 times.What does this mean, I cleaned battery cable connections, is alternator pooched.

When I hum it means I'm happy. I suspect that's not the case with your alternator, however. I'm stumped.

What do you mean it's humming? Like, just sitting there when the car's not running it makes noise?

Yes the alternator was pooched , I replaced it , ok now

Wow interesting with the engine off. I know with the engine off but the ignition on the throttle body makes some noises and the fan of your hvac will too but the alternator while not running. Does it humm still now being out of your car. If it does it's haunted and I WANT IT! lol
