6th Gen ('00-'05): aftermarket gauge help!?
Hey MCF members! So i recently bought my first of three gauges to be placed in an A-pillar that i will buy as soon as work picks up. Its a narrowband air/fuel ratio gauge.

Can anyone help me out by telling me how to install it? How it works? Please dont use too technical of words either, or youll be getting the "
" face!
And also, if anyone has any 2 1/16" gauges theyre wanting to get rid off? I'll probably take em off your hands!

I have a wide band air fuel gauge made by aem. I'm not sure how the narrow band gauges hook up...
Have you Google's or checked YouTube for a video on how to do it? Sounds crazy but a lot of my issues were solved by doing that.

And an o2 sensor is?
Srry, im still a rookie at this stuff! xD
Probably shouldn't have bought this if you don't know how to hook it up...
The black and red wire, are your ground and power.
The purple goes to the o2 sensor, that is located on your rear exhaust manifold.

Now after you install it. It doesn't do much, and it is more of an annoyance than anything else. A narrowband doesn't tell the computer much, as it doesn't give the reading that a wideband gives.
Basically when you are idling, you will see the gauge in the stoich range. When you put your foot down it will become rich, and when you let off it will become lean. It's just going to bounce around a lot and not give any useful information.
Good luck

Being an old school guy...
In my 65 impala SS it had a Vacuum gauge built in the dash...
Now there was some useful info..when it comes to useing the loud pedal!
for fuel economy!
Looks helpful, 03SSLE! Thanks!
And for the rest of you, I got it from a fellow MCF member for quite cheap. Im looking for cheap gauges to fill a 3-pod a-pillar. The narrowband is just temporary until I can save up enough money to buy the good stuff.
