Default Adding HID lighting ballasts on a 7th Gen?

Has anyone done this to their Monte yet? If so which lighting is the best to purchase and where? Is the lighting system "Canbus" (Controller area networked bus system) Or still old school?
Sincerely,
Rob~

The Canbus system is a two wire data highway system in some cars, Similar to computer ether net. I know that on some late 90's to late model Mercedes and BMW's do have it, A good example for instance that when a light would fail, the ECM gets a signal/feedback data from an area controller and it would display an error via the ECM on the dash display, that's right down to a specific lamp being out. I guess our cars don't have that yet.
The real advantage to using this system is it severly cuts down on the number of wires in a wiring harness to just two wires but would require a few more area controller boxes and relays that are controlled only by data.. The savings in copper wire would be significant for the automakers.
Thanks for the info.
As always SIncerely,
Rob~
