how do you like the type Rs?
i freaking love these speakers!i have 3 of them but only have 2 in the monte. I have 2 12 inch alpine type Rs, sony speakers all around, 1800 watt class D kenwood mono block, and a 300 watt kenwood amp for highs. I would add that caps work when theres only a light dim.if you use them when theres a drastic dim, then it will not get the job done.I have one because i got it free from a friend and i still get a heeavy dim at 900 watt max 2 ohms.I run jl audio 4 gauge. It dims alot more when i have my AUDIO CONTROL EPICENTER(digital bass processor:I use it to add bass on most songs that do not have much bass) turned up. I guess its because its forcing the amp get notes that are too high or too low

I can't help you with the audio issues, but I can tell you that I had a tensioner pulley going bad on me and I was able to purchase just the plastic pulley - I didn't have to replace the whole assembly. It only cost me a few bucks. Got it at O'Reilly's I think. Hopefully you can do the same and put the savings elsewhere.

grounds are just as important as power wire, make sure all your grounds are going to a paint free area of the frame. The larger the wire the less heat you'll generate. Less heat=higher efficiently. Caps can help as long as its a quality one, and always upgrade your starting battery to a dry cell before adding a cap.
