Default 03 Monte Carlo SS Steering Column/ FRONT END COLLISION

I had a front end collision in my 03 Monte Carlo SS last Sept. The air bags deployed, I replaced the hood, head lights, and bumper. The steering wheel is just duct taped shut and the light is on for the airbag on the dash. I found a steering column from a 00 monte carlo LS. will this work in replacement? or do I need to find another one.. or is there an easier way to make it pass inspection?

Your help is greatly appreciated!! THANK YOU!!!

unless your colum is messed up you won't need to replace the whole colum, you just need to replace the airbag, airbag computer, and quiet posibly the seatbelts as they usually have a small charge of explosive that is activated the same time as airbags to keep them tight

after all that you may need to find someone with a rather expesive scan tool to reset the airbag light, small dealers that mainly deal with salvage cars should have one or be able to direct you in the right direction for a price i'm sure they would help you out
