I'm just saying you may be able to find a nice L36 monte carlo SS, with say... 100,000 miles or so, for like $3500 / $4000

it's half the price, and then you can top-swap for around $1000 (doing the work yourself) and you have a faster than stock l67, for only $5000.

thats actually a damn good idea. now doing a top swap is it a new sc or do i just have to find one off of another car with a blown motor. and that will give more more power then one with a stock SC?

You get everything from the heads up, for example here's a top swap kit from a reputable person. Also you can source all the parts individually for next to nothing on ClubGP.com or other various places. (Many people do de-mods or decide to turbo and demod their cars)

And having the L36 and top-swapping gives you a different ratio than a stock L67 which will use the boost more efficiently. Where less PSI will match higher PSI of an L67.

or you could just do a SS m90 kit from zzp like i did, that way you keep your high compression ratio and get better results. kit is 2,000 altogether.
its a hell of a lot easier than doing a top swap, but its 1000 more.

it could be cheaper if you just got the basics
i opted for bigger injectors, if i would've kept my stock L36 injectors i would've saved about 200 bucks.
