ZZP Powerlog
04 S/C SS
So i get my zzp powerlog today and I was wondering if theres anything I should look out for when I do the install..I read on a forum some guy had a problem with his dipstick being in the way and that it wouldnt seal by the crossover..not sure if it was just him or what
Any help would greatly be appreciated

Take your spark plugs and wires off first. You can also remove the dipstick for the install. Let the crossover bolts soak in some PBlaster (although the rear bolts are usually the ones that break).
That's about it. It's a pretty easy swap.

Very easy job. The oil change is harder. I suppose it would be a PITA if you break a stud/ bolt, but still a fairly easy area to break one off. I mean if I had to extract a broken stud from any part of the engine, that would be the easy spot to work. You will marvel at how restrictive the stock manifold looks when you pull it off!

I got lucky, a little PBlaster treatment a couple of days before install, the old manifold popped right off and the PLOG right on. I was also doing a host of other mods at the time (which may have helped with this).

Hey guys own a 2003 L36 so going to be purchasing my powerlog and will be here soon enough going to do this swap is it really as easy as you guys make it sound? So basically I can reuse the same bolts from the original headers? What does the PBlaster treatment stuff mean exactly? So I don't have to remove dogbones or anything just removes push aside the ignition wires and spark plugs then as long as I can reach down in with a wrench find the bolts I can just remove them then maneuver them out past the dogbones change the gasket and the powerlog will litterally go right back in the place? Any specific tourque outs?

My Monte is in "like new" condition and I had zero problems installing a PLOG. But, I did pre-soak the mounting bolts on 2 different nights about a week prior to install (during which time it was still in "winter sleep mode"). I believe to get a little clearance needed, I did have to completely remove one or two studs. I *think* a simple socket set, extensions and deep wells were all that was needed. I was doing a BUNCH of mods at that time, so it's tough to say. I think you will need to remove the dog bones for "work room" but those are no big deal to remove (2 bolts per dog bone).
I re-used the original nuts/bolts/studs, in retrospect, I wish I would have REPLACED all studs/bolts with NEW stainless bolts from the hardware store. Since you no longer have a heat shield, no need for the nut/stud combo.
Make sure to soak the bolts with penetrating fluid MULTIPLE times BEFORE attempting this job.
