Doesn't the material come with a protective tape? Poly usually does, I think! He's going to cover it up with insulating material anyway, but the top would look good clear so as to see the filter.

all the measurements are in a thread i posted before. and in response to another question....the route i am going on the air inlet is on the bottom to come from the fenderwell
