3.4L Cold Air Intakes? I've given up on trying to make my own CAI. BUT since F***in Gm had to make the TB oval shaped and put two sensors on the tube and that big *** MAF sensor, It's way to hard. What are some good CAI intakes for the 3.4L?


Now that I remembered, I'm thinking of buying this, and building off that into the fender

Thats what I did but I put it in the bumper. The chrome elbow it comes with, I stuffed that inside the stock elbow and used those holes on teh stock elbow to fit the sensor and the vac line right> I got the one with teh heatshield though. It works just as good and makes this cool whistle.
EDIT: DO NOT TRUST THE RUBBER RINGS IT COMES WITH TO FIT THE VAC TUBE AND THE SENSOR, YOU HIT THE GAS TOO HARD AND IT SUCKS THE RINGS RIGHT IN THE INTAKE TUBE!! i was lucky enough the rings stayed on teh sunsor and vac tube and didnt suck into the engine. that is why I put the chrome tube in the stock rubber elbow. If you do this, prepar to get po'd. it is a B!

 

I have since changed the couplers. I wouldnt use the couplers it came with either. they loose all surability when hot.

 

I was thinking that also, but that's not where I'm going/want to put it. I was thinking about getting rid of the box and tubing after the MAF sensor and building it from there. BUT, even if I did build how I want to, there's no way I can secure it down so that it wont flap and bounce everywhere making noise. Unless I make my own mount. Hmmm...I just gave myself an idea.

 

Well, thats the whole idea of leaving the half of box there. It holds it in place and gives your PCM a tray and protection.

 

Gay. Me no likey now haha. Well, I could always make my own out of sheet metal. Or just buy a tray.

i have the wizaired too, but ive kinda been thinking if i were to do it again i would probably just do a fender wall intake and it would be alot cheaper

 

FWI = longer tube, longer length the air has to travel, inability to safely drive in harsh rains.

I prefer a well made CAI
